Footsteps of the Plant Hunters - Order a Brochure

Inaugural 14 or 17 day exclusive tour ~ departs 25th May 2012

During the reign of King George V, there was a gardening craze in western high society.
Intrepid plant hunters set off round the world, exploring new territories and discovering
exotic plants and shrubs, including one of our most popular and much loved plants, the
rhododendron. One of the most famous plant hunters was Joseph Rock, an Austrian botanist,
who spent 27 years plant hunting from his home in Lijiang, which we will visit during our stay.

This brand new tour offers a fascinating and varied insight into China’s Yunnan Province
and is a refreshingly different tour for those who are looking for a little excitement and
adventure. Perfect for garden enthusiasts, photographers, nature lovers and walkers alike,
this tour allows you to really experience rural Chinese life and get to know some of the many
minorities living in the Yunnan.
