Day 4 Buenos Aires to UshuaiaThis morning you’ll fly to Ushuaia, on the legendary island of Tierra Del Fuego; the world’s most southerly city in a spectacularly setting between mountain and the southern ocean. You will arrive early evening.Meals: BreakfastHotel: Las Lengas
Day 5 UshuaiaThis morning you’ll cruise the Beagle Channel on a catamaran, past the estancias built by the first settlers and the historic lighthouse Les Eclaireurs; the inspiration for Jules Verne’s novel The Lighthouse at the End of the World. On the way back, you’ll pass small islands, home to noisy communities of seals, sea lions, cormorants and giant petrels. This afternoon visit the Lapataia National Park, you’ll learn of the island’s history while viewing the incredible natural scenery and watching for beavers. Back in Ushuaia, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the centre, shop for souvenirs or visit one of the interesting museums.Meals: Breakfast. Hotel: Las Lengas.
Day 6 Ushuaia to El CalafateToday you’ll fly to El Calafate which borders the huge Los Glaciares National Park in the heart of Patagonia; a land of soaring peaks and stunning glaciers. You might like to spend your free afternoon visiting the interesting Ice Museum.Meals: Breakfast. Hotel: Kau Yatun.
Day 7 Moreno GlacierA full day’s tour travels through the scenic National Park to the Moreno Glacier. At the Corner of Sighs, you’ll get your first full view of the glacier, watch out for red and grey foxes, guanaco deer, armadillos, flamingos, pumas, mountain lions and condors en route. The Perito Moreno glacier is 30km long and towers 70ms above the walkways. You’ll hear it creak and groan, and may witness a “desprendimiento”, a huge chunk of ice breaking off and crashing into the water below.Meals: Breakfast. Hotel: Kau Yatun.
Day 8 El CalafateToday is a free day to choose your Patagonia adventure. You might like to take a boat tour on Lake Argentino to the Upsala Glacier and past large, unearthly blue, wind sculpted icebergs and a walk to Onelli Lake. Perhaps experience the pioneer way of life with a visit to a traditional Patagonian estancia, or take in the wilderness from another perspective on a horse ride like a true gaucho, mountain biking or trekking through the magnificent silent landscapes.Meals: Breakfast Hotel: Kau Yatun
