Iguazu Falls Extension

Day 1 Buenos Aires to Iguazu
When your flight lands, you’ll transfer to your hotel on the Argentine side of the falls.

Day 2 Iguazu
On a full day tour you’ll experience both the Argentine and Brazilian sides of the falls. You’ll also see the breathtaking Devil’s Throat cataract.

Day 3 Depart Iguazu
You’ll transfer to Brazil for your flight to London via Sao Paulo. Or, since you’re so close, you could pop to Rio de Janeiro for 3 nights from £390 per person before returning home.

Salta and the Northwest Extension

Day 1 Buenos Aires to Salta
You’ll fly to Salta in the north west of Argentina, which is an area of rugged beauty. The city has a very Hispanic colonial feel with a lively centre.

Day 2 Salta
A full day tour takes in the Humahuaca canyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the Hill of Seven Colours.

Day 3 Salta
On your free day, you might like to take an optional tour to some of the world’s highest vineyards at Cafayate.

Day 4 Salta to Buenos Aires
You’ll fly to Buenos Aires today.

Day 5 Depart Buenos Aires
You’ll transfer to the airport for your return flight via Sao Paulo.

Day 2 Buenos Aires
After your flight lands this morning, the rest of the day is free to settle in to your central hotel and venture into Buenos Aires.

Day 3 Buenos Aires
On a half day tour this morning, you’ll see the Cathedral and the Casa Rosada, the colourful port district of La Boca and the impressive Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Peron is buried.

Day 4 Buenos Aires to Ushuaia
This morning you’ll fly to Ushuaia, on the legendary island of Tierra Del Fuego; the world’s most southerly city in a spectacularly setting between mountain and the southern ocean. You will arrive early evening.

Day 5 Ushuaia
This morning you’ll cruise the Beagle Channel on a catamaran, past the estancias built by the first settlers and the historic lighthouse Les Eclaireurs; the inspiration for Jules Verne’s novel The Lighthouse at the End of the World. On the way back, you’ll pass small islands, home to noisy communities of seals, sea lions, cormorants and giant petrels. This afternoon visit the Lapataia National Park, you’ll learn of the island’s history while viewing the incredible natural scenery and watching for beavers. Back in Ushuaia, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the centre, shop for souvenirs or visit one of the interesting museums.

Day 6 Ushuaia to El Calafate
Today you’ll fly to El Calafate which borders the huge Los Glaciares National Park in the heart of Patagonia; a land of soaring peaks and stunning glaciers. You might like to spend your free afternoon visiting the interesting Ice Museum.

Day 7 Moreno Glacier
A full day’s tour travels through the scenic National Park to the Moreno Glacier. At the Corner of Sighs, you’ll get your first full view of the glacier, watch out for red and grey foxes, guanaco deer, armadillos, flamingos, pumas, mountain lions and condors en route. The Perito Moreno glacier is 30km long and towers 70ms above the walkways. You’ll hear it creak and groan, and may witness a “desprendimiento”, a huge chunk of ice breaking off and crashing into the water below.

Day 8 El Calafate
Today is a free day to choose your Patagonia adventure. You might like to take a boat tour on Lake Argentino to the Upsala Glacier and past large, unearthly blue, wind sculpted icebergs and a walk to Onelli Lake. Perhaps experience the pioneer way of life with a visit to a traditional Patagonian estancia, or take in the wilderness from another perspective on a horse ride like a true gaucho, mountain biking or trekking through the magnificent silent landscapes.

Day 9 El Calafate to Buenos Aires
After a free morning, you’ll fly to Buenos Aires this afternoon.

Day 10 Buenos Aires

in the cafés, shops and bars of the bohemian San Telmo district, today, it’s up to you.
