You’ll then head across to the Plantation’s sister attraction, the Mayflower II. This well-crafted replica of the ship that brought the pilgrims to America was originally built in England in 1957, and has been a fixture in the harbour ever since. You’ll visit the town of Oaks Bluffs and a village called Vineyard Haven, both of which overlook bustling marinas. Then the tour moves on to the island’s oldest town, Edgartown. Many of the attractive 19th century houses here were built by whaling captains from the profits of their voyages. Your journey continues to the classic village of Woodstock, with its picturesque covered bridge and classical Victorian and federal style houses.
