Our Japan Holiday Highlights

•Enjoying a high-speed rail trip from Tokyo to Hiroshima aboard Japan’s bullet train, locally known as the Shinkansen
•Strolling around Kyoto, from the famous temples and gardens to the quite streets with old wooden houses. There is also the possibility you’ll see a geisha dressed in finery.
•Staying in the countryside surrounding Mount Fuji in traditional Japanese rooms on the lakeside of Lake Kawaguchi.
•Visiting Hakone National Park and taking a cable car ride to see the hot springs and volcanic vents of Owakudani valley.

Where is Japan?
Japan is made up of four main islands located in East
Asia, located in the Pacific Ocean.  Japan lies to the east of South Korea and China.

Japanese Cuisine
Japan is famous for sushi and sashimi, the tasty and healthy fresh fish dishes served with ginger and ‘wasabi’. However it also has a varied cuisine and you will find speciality restaurants where delicious beef is cooked on a hot plate or in a steaming broth, tempura restaurants and excellent vegetarian food.  You can also eat very well at cheap fast food noodle restaurants, which are found all over Japan. International food is also available across the country in hotels, restaurants and takeaway stores.

Passport and visa

Full ten year passports are required and must be valid for six months after your return to the UK.  No visa is required for British passport holders for stays of up to six months’ duration.  Please note we can only advise of the requirements for British Citizen and Irish passport holders.  For British Citizen or Irish passports endorsed in any way and all other passport holders requirements should be checked with the relevant embassy.

Climate/season

Since Japan stretches 20 degrees of latitude, the climate varies widely from region to region. In summary Japan has four distinct seasons. March, April and May are the Spring months where the weather is mild to warm with not too much rain. September and October are the Autumn months which is similar to the Spring months.

There are no compulsory health requirements for this tour however you should always contact your doctor or travel clinic to seek advice on their recommendations.
